This Guide has been produced by Certsure as a learning resource based on the Level 3 Award in the Initial verification of Electrical Installations and covers the learning outcomes for both EAL and City & Guilds qualifications.
This Guide has been produced to support practising electricians who wish to increase their skills and knowledge relating to the initial verification of electrical installations. lt is of particular benefit to students attending or planning to attend courses covering the Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification of Electrical installations.
Although there are no formal entry requirements for the Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification of Electrical Installations, centres are required to ensure that candidates have the potential and opportunity to achieve the qualification. Students would be expected to have:
- A very good knowledge of BS 7677: 2078 Requirements for Electrical fnstaffations (lET Wiring Regulations Eighteenth Edition) and should preferably have recently completed a course for an allied qualification (such as the Level 3Award in the Requirements for Electrical fnstallations (BS 7671) set by EAL or City & Guilds).
- Good written communication skills to allow them to complete Electrical Installation Certification and relay information in a clear, accurate and concise manner that is likely to be understood by the person ordering the work.
