This Guidance Note is part of a series issued by the Institution of Engineering and Technology to explain and enlarge upon the requirements in BS 767l:2018, the 18th Edition of the lET Wiring Regulations.

This Guidance Note has been revised to align with BS 76712018 /ET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition. BS 76712018 includes the following additional section on special installations that was not included in the previous edition: Onshore units of electrical shore connections for inland navigation vessels (Section 730).

This Guidance Note has been revised where necessary to maintain alignment with the technical requirements of the latest IEC and European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) standards.
