This Guidance Note is concerned primarily with protection against over-current, that is, with Chapter 43 and Appendix 4, and has been revised to align with BS 767i;2018 Requirements for electrical instillation.

Appendix 3 of BS 7671 Time/current characteristics of over-current protective devices and RCDS has been amended. The amendment includes changes in guidance on the rule of thumb applied to loop impedance measurement taken at ambient temperature for assessing compliance with Regulations 41 1.4.4 or 411.5.4, as appropriate.
